I think if you are marketing a small business, the most important thing is to put yourself in the shoes of your prospective customers, and understand the benefits from THEIR side. Respect their time. Give them good information. And if your business depends on repeat business or good word of mouth, then be sure that you are giving them the straight scoop! While some strategies drive short term sales, they may actually be bad for your business over the longer haul.

  4. Radio advertising – very affordable at small stations.

10 second TV spot at off hours.

Direct mail – affordable in bulk, especially effective if you buy a targeted list and know a good designer and ad mind who can help you with a concept.

I really liked your video and your channel. If you really want to get your business exposed, I have a program that does exactly that. This program has boosted my business to the top of the internet. This is not a mlm, pyramid scheme or how to make money on ebay. Please check out my channel and videos. Thanks again can’t wait to hear from ya.

Make some tasty opening offers. Offer opening discounts. Free wine.
Hand out flyers and TALK to passers by, outlining your plans. Visit offices in the area – mentioning special offers.
Produce colourful flyers with a catchy headline.
For example ……. Do not commit CHOP-SUICIDE……..try ours instead !!.
Get a mention on local radio. This can be done free.

Cost free are always the best….

    Here's a few ideas:
1)Write articles and submit them to article directories
    2)Learn SEO (online and offline)
3)Exchange links with other people in your same niche
4)Start building a list and email them regularly
5)Write a free report and make it rebrandable
6)Create a myspace profile and join as many groups as possible and start adding friends then you can post bulletins, and make comments on high profile myspace sites (actors, bands, etc)….
7)Pick one of these and do it until you see results or you'll see minimul results all the way around
8)Use PLR articles in your niche, or other niches and inadverently [sic] add your links within either articles or blog posts (make it make sense)

That should keep you busy and I should charge you for all that actually……
    Enjoy!

I have been in network marketing for a little under a year now and I have been trying to sponge up as much knowledge as I can as well! There is a new product about to launch to the public called, "Black Belt Recruiting." Mike Dillard is putting this out. You may have heard of him with "Magnetic Sponsoring." Right now he is offering a free 60 minute video tutorial packed with internet marketing tips that will tell you how you can sponsor 10+ leads a month and they guarantee it. Pretty powerful stuff there. There is a lot of free info out there and you can learn quite a bit from it. You need to have a marketing system in order to market GDI effectively. Currently the best marketing system for GDI is Tissa Godavitarne's ACME search engine. This can be evidenced by looking at the GDI leaderboard which Tissa tops every week.

  15. Thanks innercirclemasters and Rumruner. It’s a work in progress, hopefully more progress than work ;-)

You could always try the Bill Gates plan:

Sell a "pre-need program." This form of "insurance" would give the customer the assurance that he/she won't force his/her survivors to dig deep into their pockets at a particularly trying time.
The customer would get an ID card, or a wrist bracelet or "dog tags" with an 800 number so that his/her survivors need only phone the number and your organization could do the rest.
This kind of marketing lends itself to direct marketing especially. Direct marketing is usually the most effective and efficient, with the best ROI. One free and unending source of ideas on direct marketing is the Direct Marketing Creative Generator at word-jobber.blogspot.com. New ideas every Monday–and they work!
